Electronic Telegram No. 2417 Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams INTERNATIONAL ASTRONOMICAL UNION CBAT Director: Daniel W. E. Green; Room 209; Dept. of Earth and Planetary Sciences; Harvard University; 20 Oxford St.; Cambridge, MA 02138; U.S.A. e-mail: cbat@iau.org; cbatiau@eps.harvard.edu URL http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/cbat.html SUPERNOVA 2010gv Further to CBETs 2404 and 2408, D. Balam and E. Chisholm, National Research Council of Canada, obtained CCD images of 2010gv on Aug. 13.33 UT using the 1.82-m Plaskett telescope, showing the new object at R.A. = 17h58m22s.57, Decl. = +50d47'34".3 (equinox 2000.0), which is 2".3 east and 1".2 N north the core of the faint galaxy SDSS J175822.33+504733.1, noting that there is no source visible at this position on the Sloan Digital Sky Survey DR7 images (to limiting R magnitude about 22) or on the Palomar Sky Survey. Using the SDSS catalogue star SDSS J175818.72+504702.2 as a secondary standard and converting the SDSS magnitudes to the Kron_Cousins system, they derive a differential magnitude of R = 15.85.
