Examples of valid search strings are given below.

Searching For Names: Complete names Mueller 1 Levy-Rudenko Partial names Shoemaker Mueller(The first partial name would pick up all the Shoemaker, Shoemaker-Holt, Shoemaker-Levy, etc., comets, while the second would pick up all Mueller's long period and periodic comets.)
If you are uncertain as to whether a new-style designation begins with `P/', `C/' or `D/', it is preferable to omit this prefix. However, entering a P/ designation for a D/ comet will work.
When searching for names, only complete words will be matched. Thus to find all the comets named `Mueller', one must type `Mueller' in full-- `Muel' will not match any comets. As the search is case-sensitive, entering `MUELLER' or `mueller' will also fail to match any comets.
