MPCAT-OBS: Observation Archive
The links below provide access to complete observational sets for numbered and unnumbered minor planets and comets in both compressed and uncompressed forms.You are reminded that these data are for your own personal scientific use and must not be redisseminated in any form.
The file sizes for the uncompressed files are as indicated and the files are complete through the latest published full batch of Minor Planet Circulars. The GZIP-compressed versions of the data files are roughly 20% of the size of the uncompressed data files.
- Numbered minor planets ( 57609615 observations, 4.29 GB)
- Unnumbered minor planets ( 10679312 observations, 814.8 MB)
- Numbered periodic comets ( 181447 observations, 13.8 MB)
- Other comets ( 322629 observations, 24.6 MB)
- Natural outer irregular satellites of the giant planets
- Minor planet observations updated through the most recent mid-month batch are now available. The sizes of the files will be comparable to the sizes listed above but (obviously) somewhat bigger. If there has not been a mid-month batch issued since the last MPCs, these files will not exist. Note that access to these files will be blocked while they are being updated.
